“Who scribbled with markers in my book?”, Mahi thought angrily as soon as she opened her new book. She loved her books. She would keep them nice and took good care of them.
“Should I ask mumma? She might think I did it and asking her to save myself. But at least I should tell her”, Mahi thought. She went out of her room to tell this to mumma.
In Mahi’s room, there was a red chest of drawers in which she kept her colours, stationary and other art & craft supplies. There was also one book cupboard.
“Mumma, does someone enters my room after I am gone? Just look at my books. They were so pretty. Who scribbled on them!?” Mumma gave her a smile and asked to peep in her room, right now, but without making any noise. She might catch the culprit.
Mahi walked up to her room and then she saw it!
Her little brother, Tubby, had crawled into her room. With his tiny hands, he opened the lowest drawer of the chest where the colours were kept. He took out the bright markers – as many as he could hold in his little fist. Mahi used these markers for colouring her school projects. Then he opened the book cupboard and dragged a book out. He opened the book and started scribbling in the book mumbling his favourite rhyme.

“Mumma, stop him!! Please!!!”, Mahi shouted and ran back to her mumma. Tubby looked up, chuckled and continued scribbling.
