Igloo then
I am Noel. Me and my sister, Ivy, live in a very small igloo in a tiny village in the Arctic. Those were the happy days when there was ice everywhere.
Sun didn’t show for many days. It would be chilly all day and night. We wore multiple layers of clothes to feel warm. We enjoyed playing on the ice.
The white polar bears looked giant and scary then. They were always seen catching fish from the ocean.
Our igloo was the prettiest. There were 20 other igloos in the village but ours was the best. My dad made it with the biggest and the whitest ice bricks.
Those were the days!
Igloo now
We don’t see much snow around these days. The snow is melting. Every day we see a glacier breaking and falling into the ocean.
The water is becoming warm and the fishes have gone. The polar bears have become thin and they look sad. They have no food to eat.
The sun shows up almost every day now. We wear lesser layers of clothes now as it’s not very chilly.
But you know the saddest part. Our igloo – our home – is melting. There is nothing much we can do about it. But, I and my sister have come up with an idea.
We have put a giant umbrella on our igloo to save it from the sun.
Our igloo looks different from all others. We hope it works and our home doesn’t melt.
