Hasselback Potato is a unique style of baking potatoes and the credit goes to a Swedish chef who made this for the first time in the 1950s.
Hasselback potato is a vegetarian recipe in which a single potato, sliced into thin wedges but left joined at the bottom, baked until the layers fan out into rounds of blissful crispy slices. You can make the slices as thick or as thin as you want.
Take a break from regular potatoes and try this scrumptious recipe to add variety to your dinner or lunch. Or simply serve it with drinks. Cheers!
For Hasselback potatoes, you can take the potatoes of any size and any variety. Not the sweet ones, ofcourse! The potatoes are baked with the skin.
When you start slicing the potatoes the slices will be sticking together. Don’t worry, they will start separating when they start baking.
Ready to go in the oven

Pro Tip: The potatoes are baked in two stages. Stage 1 is when you bake the potatoes for the first time after greasing them on the top. In Stage 2, grease the potatoes again between the slices. This way the whole potato and the slices will be greased allover evenly with butter and herbs adding wholesome flavour.
