Red Fort or Lal Qila in Hindi, is an ancient historical monument situated in Delhi. It served as the residence of the Mughal Emperors. The Red Fort has an area of 254.67 acres enclosed by 2.41 kilometres (1.50 mi) of high rise defensive walls. Many famous artists, painters, photographers and illustrators have showcased exquisite art and drawings of Red Fort, especially on the ceiling, walls and floors.
The Red Fort is octagonal in shape and its north-south axis is longer than the east-west axis. The Mughal architecture is purely exemplified in its structure with the marble, floral decorations and double domes in the fort’s buildings.
The world-known Kohinoor diamond was believed to be a part of furnishings and ornamentation of the Red Fort. The fort’s Persian, European and Indian artwork resulted in a unique Shahjahani form of art that is rich in form, colour and expression. Constant efforts are being made by the government and the local authorities to preserve it.

This is a strange sort of haunting yet it shows the beauty of the insides of the Red Fort so beautifully. It shows the melancholy of the woman whose only objective to sweep the floor of this historical monument and get by her day.
