eek /iːk/
Hi! I am Eeks. I live in this house right there. Up there. Can you see?
I feel so happy when everyone yells eeks in excitement when they see me. I wag my tail to say hello. But I don’t know why they run away? Do I look scary?
Oh! By the way…I am a gecko.

I live alone in this house. But I don’t feel sad because I have the freedom to be anywhere in the house. And these people – they just love me. Whenever I come down on the floor, they scatter away and make space cheering for me loudly – Eeks!! Eeks!! It’s so thrilling. I feel like a superstar. But I feel shy and I hurriedly hide in the nearest nook or behind a cupboard.
There is a little boy in this house who never calls my name. Even when I am on the floor. I should talk to him someday and ask him. Oh! Here he comes. I’ll crawl up to him on his desk and have a word.
Oh boy! That was tough. The gap between the table and the wall was big for me. I almost fell. Thank god for my vacuum powered claws.
Hey! He is looking at me. Hi, little boy! I am Eeks!
What is he doing? Why is he coming closer to me?
Shake hands? With me? Oh! Erm..ok!

His fingers are so soft. Why don’t they make walls like this?
Let me take a step forward slowly. I don’t want to scare him.
What’s he doing? He is rubbing my head and it feels so good. Does this mean he wants to be my friend? I think he does.
Where is he taking me? Don’t drop me please…please…please!!
Where am I? Is this my own house? It has tiny windows on every wall, a roof and four walls. Did he make this – for me?

He loves me and I promise to be his friend forever.
